Kyra Cherie
Kyra tells us about her hair and her personal flair as I ask her a few things. Find out here and now why she might have superpowers and what she would say to Mr. Trump if she had the chance!
Where are you from originally and how much do you love NYC?
Iโm from Redwood City, California, a suburb in the Bay Area 30 min. south of San Fran. Growing up I always dreamed of living in New York City because I wanted to be immersed in the art, fashion, and grandness that is NY. I love NY so much! Itโs a magical place but the hustle is constant. It ainโt easy out here letโs just put it that way.
If one wanted to run into you in the city, where would on go?
I hang out in lower west side/Greenwich Area because I teach dance cardio fitness at 305 fitness. You can def catch me in that area hanging out or strolling around. When not working Iโm either thrifting, grabbing a drink with friends, or going to cute queer dance parties all over lower Manhattan and Brooklyn!
โจWhat is the name of the green in your hair? What are you thinking for your next color?
Idk what to even call it, but I swear that shit gave me super powers. Iโve never felt more cunt or more fierce in my life. I would wake up everyday just feeling myself and that is powerful in itself. B4 the green, I was afraid to try different colors with my braids. Now I feel bold as hell and want to try anything and everything. Iโm being clichรฉ AF and doing orange b4 Halloween. Why not right?
Who taught you how to do make up and from where do you think you got your personal flair?
My entire life Iโve been into makeup and fashion. Growing up in dance and musical theather, I was always performing and having to do my own makeup and create looks for different characters.
My theather background is a huge reason for my style of makeup because it ranges in decades and theatrics. I learned from just practicing on myself - I never was the tutorial type. For me it was just trial and error.
I find inspiration from all the iconic stars from the 50s to the 2k. People from Grace Jones to Pam Anderson have influenced me to try different styles and looks. I grew up with such a wide range of interests in music, fashion, and art which explains my eclectic style of makeup and style now.
This is a scary time for us in America! If you could look Trump in the eye and say anythingโฆ what would you say?
I would look him in the eyes and say: โI feel so bad for you. There must have been something truly traumatic that happened to you in your childhood...or maybe you have repressed homosexual feelings...or maybe you really are just an extremely uneducated prick with a third leg and youโre not proud of the size. Whatever your privileged, white, cis, hetero, male issues are, can you just please give it the fuck up and go ruin someoneโs day.... not an entire fucking country?!? THANKS!โ.
