During the same days, as part of Terraforma Exo, we’re hosting Radio City Portrait, a project stemming from ‘Ritratto di Città’, a pivotal reference in the history of electroacoustic music. Radio City Portrait reinterprets the original radiophonic piece created in 1954 by Luciano Berio and Bruno Maderna on the occasion of its 70th anniversary.
Realised by the interdisciplinary researcher and artist Ricciarda Belgiojoso and composer and musician Walter Prati, Radio City Portrait reflects the contemporary soundscape of Milan.
The original piece and its reinterpretation will be reproduced through a binaural listening session on a headphone sistem, that will take place at Villa Necchi Campiglio, the architectural masterpiece designed in the early 1930s by the architect Piero Portaluppi in the centre of Milan. Thanks to FAI - Fondo Ambiente Italiano for the precious collaboration.
Tomorrow at 11:30 AM, a special presentation of Radio City Portrait, featuring a conversation with Maria Maddalena Novati from Nomus, will open our sonic journey at Villa Necchi Campiglio.
The talk will take place in the basement.
Do not miss it!
We remind you that this event is free to all, allowing access to the villa’s garden.
When arriving at the villa you will be given a pair of headphones and your Radio City Portrait listening session will begin.
See you tomorrow!
Looking forward!
