The ‘Essence of Aphrodite’ is a visual story that looks at the concept of self-love in relation to the annual occurrence of Valentines Day. The images draw inspiration from classical art and the goddess Aphrodite, through styling and posing as a means of female empowerment. Straying from the common constructs of Cupid and the male form, being the giver of love, my images are a reflection upon the strength in solidarity amongst womanhood.
