Samuel Zeller
After high school he began art school (CFPAA in Geneva) were he studied graphic design first and then interactive media design: web design, video, sound and new medias. He has never been really fond of the education system since he’s mostly a self-learner type, he likes to experiment. He has got his first solo exhibition planned 19-28 May 2016 at the "Next door gallery" in Geneva.
The photographer who inspired him was Werner Bischof, in particular, a monograph with a picture of a young boy playing pan flute. He always liked his work, then he discovered other photographers like Sebastiao Salgado and Greg White.
“What inspire me is: Arts, particularly sculpture and installation design. Pieces that play with space, light and shapes.”
Photography is a personal way to express himself that he has acquired over time, almost by necessity. He has always had this need to express his emotions through different channels, rather than language, since a young age. He almost always creates strong images when going through strong emotional states. He started this series in March 2015. He was on his way home after a hard day at work. He took the train and he got off a station before his usual one. He needed some fresh air and time to calm down so he went to the Botanical Gardens. Zeller became aware of the environment that was surrounding him such as the light going through the greenhouse. Focusing on this, he was finally able to clear his mind and relax.
