Ring me
The project began from a pair of shoes she handmade , then to a collaborative project enhancing her friends garments and a unique scarf she made with the access of data. The project is inspired about how accessible our personal images are online and the choices we make when selecting our images to date.
‘Ring me ‘ is a creative project that was stimulated to Clodie by the idea of our online romantic presence and our use of ratings platforms such as Tinder. This sparked Clodie’s attention to create the ‘Tinder Shoe’, a handmade Perspex open toe pair of heels collaged in Tinder profiles she came across amongst a 1 month period. She was inspired by easily accessible information and personal data such as photographs are online , and also at why the person uses that particular photo to represent themselves. Imagery is a core focus to her work.
The project continued into a collaborative piece, capturing the garments of Slid Needham and Ben Parsons. The piece also features a silk headscarf made my Clodie Worboys which is a data glitch tinder profile collage, named the ‘Tinder Desert’ inspired by someone’s image. The series consisted of many 3D Works Created by Clodie , to demonstrate the 3 Dimensional world of our online presence. The designs also consist of terms such as ‘Ring me’ the project name, phrases Clodie was sent often whilst using the app.
