Merry Christmas guys!
As the evening progressed, the holiday season’s stresses melted away along with all of Andrew’s worries. That is until his phone started loudly ringing from the corner of the room. It was his boss telling him he had to come in tomorrow, on Christmas day! Andrew immediately felt a pit start to form in his stomach as he began to dread his favorite holiday. As he arrived to work on Christmas morning, his boss greeted him with a warm smile, which was unusual for the middle-aged man. Andrew returned this gesture with a sly smirk and started his work, occasionally getting distracted and roaming around the office.
Watching the clock tick by Andrew couldn’t wait for his lunch break, where he planned on eating turkey and stuffing and pumpkin pie he had brought from home, prepared by his mother of course. As lunchtime rolled around Andrew found a wrapped gift waiting for him in the break room labeled “For our dearest employee Andrew”. He felt butterflies in his stomach as anticipation for the surprise built up. Andrew slowly opened the envelope to find a set of brand new 2020 Mercedes-Benz car keys! He let out a soft screech and ran outside, hollering at his boss and co-workers to follow him as he passed their cubicles. And sure enough, a shiny white Mercedes was waiting for Andrew right outside the office. His co-workers and boss cheered him on as he celebrated his gift and holiday season. “Hey guys, Merry Christmas, to me!” he shouted as he got in and drove off into the sunset, after the best workday ever!
