Mark Stadman
Bold and cheeky intimacy: Take a peek into the mind of Mark Stadman who experiments with tingling sensuality through ASMR, photography, sculpture and collage.
Mark Stadman is part of a group show curated by Print and Play Exhibition, where ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response), otherwise known as the sound-triggered tingly sedative sensations felt traveling down the scalp and into the spine serves as the fundamental theme. For their contribution, Mark has created three ASMR experiments in the forms of short videos which will be published on Youtube, where the modern phenomenon of ASMR was originally born.
Having watched ASMR for several years, Mark is no stranger to utilizing such videos as a way of de-stressing and to relax after a strenuous work day. Most works from Mark are made in an especially intimate setting, where the viewer should somehow feel up close and personal due to the exceedingly close distance between the filming equipment and the subject matter; whether it’s scratching objects such as denim or a mirror, crinkling paper, or rolling lint, they manage to produce ‘tingles’ in common household settings.
Otherwise, mediums like photography, sculpture, and collage are also included in Mark Stadman’s rich variety of works which may be described as an ultimately soothing blend of intimacy, sensuality, fragility, and anonymity.
