Magliano AW20
Slipping conventional documentary, Magliano’s AW20 collection operates through ghastly poetics: clothes torn as a sign of mourning, creeping through indecipherable ruins, questioning one’s own place. In this show, Magliano defines the spirit of the Mediterranean Gothic. This is the clothing of grieving, a wardrobe of mourning. Outlining the absurdity and plausibility of darkness and night experiences, the show features principles showcased through cyborg ravers and fluidity emphasized by fastening household items onto torn or chained articles adorned. Images of clothing resembles fantastical fever memories, Magliano seeks a trans-generational transmission echoing through the AW20 timespace. From Magliano, the dream is “Always welcoming in the spirit of the Mediterranean Gothic.”
