The adolescent imaginary of Eastern countries aestheticises and marks a great sense of location, such as the fog of the Vercelli plain in northern Italy or snowy sanctuaries like that of Oropa. As if photographed against a green screen, the composition of these photos give off a post-apocalyptic mysterious ambiance aided by weapons such as swords, daggers and rifles which are accompanied by outfits of emerging Milanese designers. Rooting their interest in the nostalgic longing of post-Soviet aesthetics, the photographers invite us to ponder on the politics of time and space.
