Your new single "King" is out now. Can you tell us a little bit about the inspiration behind the song and what fans can expect from it?

I wrote “King” when I finished filming my movie Dead Hot. I felt so empowered and so connected to my higher self that I wanted to refer to myself as a king. No more masculine/ feminine hierarchy. A woman is a king.

You've been a successful DJ and producer for a number of years now. What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out in the music industry?

You have to be authentic to who you are as a person. Don't try to mimic others. Find your uniqueness and let it shine and work really really fucking hard. You have to be addicted to it. It’s no 9-5 where you can clock in and out. You literally have to live and breathe your art.

You've performed at a lot of music festivals all over the world. Do you have a favourite festival or performance that stands out to you as particularly memorable?

For me, Red Rocks will always be such a special venue as it was actually my first-ever show in the US. I had a friend pass when I was younger and I dedicated my first show to him. Now every time I play Red Rocks I have a double rainbow at the end of my sets. It’s pure magic. Coachella was also a bucket list item I got to check off. It’s been on every vision board I’ve ever made.

You recently released a film called "Dead Hot" with Vanessa Hudgens. Can you talk about what drew you to this project and how it was different from your other creative work?

I love performing more than anything in the world so TV was just another avenue of performance for me. When we first came up with the idea it was the middle of the pandemic and we were watching a lot of simple life and doing A LOT of witchcraft. Lots and lots of shadow work. So we wanted to find a way to dive deeper into witchcraft and our own spiritual journeys in a way that also enhanced the bond of sisterhood.

Your music often blends different genres and styles. How do you go about creating a unique sound that stands out from other electronic artists?

I’m a punk rock metal baby by heart. Whenever I’m writing I always start with either an acoustic or electric guitar and usually write the topline naked with just the guitar and build the track out from there. Songwriting is truly my calling. I always have too much to say and so many feelings. I struggle a lot with emotions and songwriting is my legit therapy. It gives me so much clarity about life and the situations I’m in. I always tell people I’m dating I come with a warning sign because if you're in my life 100 per cent going to get a song.

You've talked in the past about your struggles with mental health. How has your personal journey influenced your music, and how do you prioritize self-care while balancing a busy career?

I have chronic ADHD and it's been something I was diagnosed with when I was like 6 years old. My mother never wanted to medicate me so instead she threw me into every type of sport under the sun and that helped me so much. I'm an extremely active person and I work out 5 times a week to maintain a healthy mind and keep my ADHD in check. I also journal as soon as I wake up. My mind runs a million miles an hour and I find that when I first wake up, if I can get all my thoughts out I'm able to better control my focus throughout the day. I'm also highly dyslexic so journaling helps with that.

Who are some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they impacted your creative style?

I would say my biggest musical influences are Nirvana, Bring Me the Horizon, Courtney Love, Justice, and anything in the Blog House era. Most recently I've been super into Turnstyle and Lorna Shore. I just love heavy music however I'm also an emotional baby so I think merging the two feelings creates this hyper-sexual rock/punk blend.

You've worked with a number of other artists and producers over the years. Is there anyone you haven't collaborated with yet that you would love to work with in the future?

Oly Sykes is def on my target list. I'd love to work with Knocked Loose and also John Feldmann as he’s a goat producer.

Your music often includes themes of empowerment and self-confidence. Can you talk about why these themes are important to you and how you hope to inspire your fans with your music?

To me, confidence is just about manipulating your mind. Some Days I wake up feeling so shitty and ugly and think my voice is trash and blah blah blah and I'll literally slap myself and alter that thought and turn it into a positive and be like okay, if you are feeling like that, write about it. I just want to empower people to be themselves. I spent a solid time in my career being told I had to wear baggy clothes because I wouldn't be taken seriously if I dressed and acted the way I do and now. I've never felt more free, more alive and more in touch with my higher self.

What's next for you in terms of new music, touring, or other creative projects? Do you have anything in the works that you're particularly excited about?

I'm currently in the stage of working on my next EP. Been in the studio every day writing and trying to create something that really embodies who I am as an artist. A couple of new collabs on the way with other electronic artists. So Tuff So Cute is set for world domination and a headline/live tour is in the works for early next year. :)
