How did you get started in music, and what inspired you to become a musician?

I was introduced to music by my father;  In 2009, we experienced a house fire and had to move into a friend's home. There was a studio in the house and my dad brought me in one day. Since we were in the house, I finally felt comfortable to explore and sing for the first time.

Who are some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they shaped your sound?

My biggest influences in music are Kanye, Frank Ocean, 070Shake, Lana Del Ray and James Blake. I really love their commitment to their worlds and attention to detail.

Your music is known for its experimental and unconventional elements. How do you balance pushing boundaries with creating accessible, listenable music?

Wow thank you, I think the foundation of my musical process was very pop and jazz influenced and as I’ve evolved artistically I’ve expanded the way I hear music and what music I want to skate over

Can you tell us a bit about your creative process? How do you typically go about writing and recording your music?

My creative process is always in flux. It’s an alchemy between experiencing life and the timing with producers / collaborators. I’ll usually take mental notes or in my notes app. Otherwise we go into the studio and listen to instrumental music and let the melodies fall out then fill the story.

Your new 'INFLUX' album is a departure from your previous work in terms of style and sound. Can you tell us a bit about the creative process behind this new project?

I think the evolution and this destination with the album sonically was always where I was destined to end up. The creative process was really finding the right producers and collaborators to create those moments.
It's like a painter looking for specific shades of paint, I envisioned this painting for a long time and then finally came to find the perfect palette to depict this sonic world.

Your latest release "GLASS JEDI" has been getting a lot of buzz. Can you talk about the themes and ideas you explore on the record, and how you went about bringing those to life?

GLASS JEDI was really the first of all the songs to be born, meeting Deaton Chris Anthony and seeing the sonic world he plays in, he was able to give me such a fresh backdrop for the story I wanted to tell.
The theme of the whole album is about embracing every genre that you are. Living outside of labels

What advice would you give to young women who are interested in pursuing a career in music?

My best advice to give women in music is to know that you are powerful. And Trust yourself because your gut is loud and strong. Don’t work with people that don’t make you feel right. And don’t shit where you eat
“There's no right way to do anything, and people will try to make you feel like there is” - EZI

Looking ahead to the future, what are some of your goals and aspirations for your music career?

My only goal right now as I’m reading this question is for respect and longevity and to continue to make amazing music with people that inspire me.

What can fans expect from your upcoming projects, and when might we see some new music from you?

I will definitely be dropping some new music this year, hopefully a deluxe album and a little follow up project. I think as far as music and concept, just expect for it to keep being fire

Lastly, what do you hope listeners take away from your music, and what message do you hope to convey through your art?

I hope my listeners feel fierce and confident after hearing INFLUX.
