Inspired by the surrealist artworks of Meret Oppenheim, who famously refused to be referred to as a ‘female artist’, against the stylized erotic photography of Guy Bourdin. The Erotique Voilee collection lies somewhere in the middle of these two opposing bodies of work, with elements of the 70s surrealist movement incorporated via the colour scheme and vintage blocking techniques. The contrast between these ideas are conveyed from every angle imaginable, most notably in the variation of fabric textures that appear across the looks, including everything from faux fur to twill and mesh. Colour variations switched between neutrals and neon, adding to the overall sense of duality. It was a tale of two opposites, proving once and for all that they do attract.
