Click on Blatant Space’s Instagram profile, where the digital artist displays his work, to his 52,000 followers and you’ll come across a sea of peculiarly fantastical images, toucan profiles superimposed on people, psychedelically dressed in yellow, pink, black and red striped suits and blonde-haired eagles wearing turtlenecks, the characters brought-to-life through his experimentations with DALLE-E, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) programme and text-to-image model Stable Diffusion, software the creator credits as helping him to“push the boundaries of what is possible in terms of image generation and manipulation.” Ultimately, the works not only challenge the paradigms between the art and digital spaces, but introduce us to a world in which the co-existence of both is tangible, even inevitable.
