Once again defying norms with his FW24 collection, Kunihiko Morinaga pays tribute to inanimate objects. Beneath the majestic Pont Alexandre III, an enchanting display unfolds: various geometric forms - such as spheres, pyramids, and cubes – accompanies modern, sleek outfits, moving and posturing as if alive.

Kicking off with a nostalgic nod to childhood that features a round shape resembling Doraemon and other volumes standing for other characters of the beloved Japanese cartoon, the collection blurs the boundaries between reality and fantasy, thus blending them in an alternative universe where the ordinary and the extraordinary can happily convive.

On their tail comes a series of spherical creations including a look teasing Kunihiko Morinaga’s soon-to-launch debut collection for HERNO® Globe, the sustainable line of Italian luxury brand HERNO, as the label’s new creative director, as well as a globe blouson featuring a design produced by FOREARTH, a revolutionary water-free concept inkjet printing process developed by Kyocera Corporation.

In this newly established between human figures and their geometric counterparts, showcasing Morinaga’s innovative design approach, the clothes still commands the attention of the viewer.

Dramatic drapes, asymmetric volumes and generous and elaborate gravity-defying cocoon shapes are the main features of Anrealage FW24 Collection.

Rejecting the “nonsensical and violent” reality of the traditional way of making clothes, and the illusion of “clothes that look good on everyone,” Kunihiko Morinaga designs clothes as objects as well as clothes for objects, thus offering a playful new take on the one-size-fits-all ethos and pushing the borders of creativity on step further.
