A-COLD-WALL SS25

A-COLD-WALL SS25

Entering a new phase since the recent departure of its founder, Samuel Ross,  A-COLD-WALL*  presents “Pink Noise” for its SS25 collection. Exploring concepts such as ephemerality and functionality, anonymity and audacity, “Pink Noise” draws inspiration from subcultures of Britain — specifically sonic culture and the practice of illicit radio broadcasting.

The collection experiments with proportions through its distinct use of cinching and ruching, while details such as angled, diagonal seams nod to radio antennas — an anonymous object due to their ubiquity. Classical silhouettes balance out the collection and the use of weathering, a technique signature to the brand, can be found in accessories such as “Pink Noise”’s ultra-distressed baseball caps.

Designed by A-COLD-WALL*’s studio team, which operates in both London and Milan, “Pink Noise” also features the Japanese biotech company, Spiber’s patented Brewed Protein™ material. Using microbial fermentation technology, the tactile and industrially avant-garde textile can be found throughout the collection alongside pieces made with experimental fabric produced by specialist mills throughout Italy.

Presented with activations by collaborators from A-COLD-WALL*’s extended network, including a runway film directed by Rory Wood and a lookbook shot by Luca Grottoli in Deptford Storehouse, a former newspaper depot in South London, “Pink Noise” speaks to the power of subculture and explores the possibilities of networked creative production.
