Swedish Girls duo, Mira Bergh and Josefin Zachrisson, known for their avant-garde approach, bring their wire creation to Alcova, a prominent platform at Milan Design Week. Their latest project, "Another Fountain," reimagines outdoor collective furniture with universal appeal. Building on their previous work showcased in 2023, titled "A Public Space with Private Intentions," the duo's sculptural and functional aesthetic invites tactile engagement.

"Another Fountain" is a departure from traditional furniture design, drawing inspiration from the symbolism and history of fountains. Reflecting on the utilitarian and decorative roles of fountains throughout history, particularly during the Renaissance, the project aims to evoke playfulness and interaction. The intricate stainless steel rods intersect to form a complex structure, reminiscent of classic fountain designs but contemporized for modern audiences.

The project pays homage to the Renaissance concept of fountains as spaces for leisure and respite, where play, drama, and music converged. "Another Fountain" embodies this spirit, inviting viewers to become active participants in their own experience. With its emphasis on vertical symmetries and allegorical nods to historical fountains, the project encapsulates the Swedish Girls' innovative and visually striking design ethos.
