Sougwen Chung's solo exhibition, GENESIS, presents a compelling exploration of human and machine collaboration through four distinct works. Held in Munich, this exhibition brings together pieces that question and redefine the role of technology in creative practices. Each work represents a unique dialogue between the artist and robotic systems, moving beyond the notion of machines as mere tools.
The exhibition opens with GENESIS: Stage I, an installation that sets the tone for Chung's exploration. Through a combination of process film, sculpture, and organic forms, the work examines the origins of their ongoing dialogue with machines. This piece acts as a conceptual foundation, highlighting the complex and evolving nature of this collaboration.
Following this, BODY MACHINE, a series of eight digital works, debuts in 2024. These screen-based pieces delve into the fluid interplay between human creativity and machine intelligence. Each work reflects Chung's deep engagement with the digital realm, presenting technology as an integral part of the creative process rather than an external influence.
