Prada Frames
Milan Design Week - 6/7/8 April 2025
Piazza Luigi di Savoia 1, Padiglione Reale and Arlecchino Train, Milan Central Station

Prada presents the 2025 Prada Frames symposium, running in coincidence with Milan’s Salone del Mobile, an initiative that sits at the intersection of design, culture, and society—exploring contemporary issues through a multiplicity of perspectives to convey and enhance complexities rather than taming them.

Under the title In Transit, the 2025 edition offers a prismatic gaze - through art, design, architecture, anthropology, philosophy and activism - on infrastructure as a dynamic and multifaceted system that enables, restricts, and shapes movement, whether of people, goods, data, or power.

The event takes place from Sunday, April 6, through Tuesday, April 8. Discussions will take place aboard the Arlecchino train, recently restored by the Fondazione FS Italiane and originally designed by Gio Ponti and Giulio Minoletti in the 1950s, with an exterior informed by naval aerodynamics, and interiors featuring glass partitions, adjustable armchairs, and panoramic lounges, as well as in the Padiglione Reale, the historic structure once reserved as a waiting area for Italian royalty and heads of state within Milan’s Central Station. Both places pose questions on societal structures and mobility while allowing veritable masterpieces of design and architecture to be rediscovered by the public.

Prada Frames will include contributions from Giacomo Abbruzzese, AAU Anastas, Paola Antonelli, Nelly Ben Hayoun-Stépanian, Kate Crawford, Tung-Hui Hu, Metahaven, Hito Steyerl, and Nicola Twilley, among others.

The conversations will be contextualized by Alice Rawsthorn and moderated by Natalia Grabowska.
