What are similarities between cooking and making music?
Music alike with cooking is also made up of ~ingredients~ or components that when they all come together they create something and changing any of the little components or ingredients can change the outcome completely for the better or worse. I think that’s why I like both of them so much, because it’s satisfying to see how each different thing you put together in the making comes out in the final form of the song or dish.
What is your favourite place to visit?
In the small scale of things, visiting parks or places with lots of grass brings me immediate happiness, kind of like a falling in love feeling. Prospect park is my favorite place in New York at the moment. In the bigger scale, I was recently living in Denmark and met a lot of sweeties and have a part my heart living there.
What is your hidden talent?
I can unicycle ;)
Which musician inspires you the most?
My best friends inspire me so much! I feel constantly so lucky to be surrounded by such influential individuals. Every time I go to a friend’s show I am floored by how talented and unique they are. Some of my dear friends worth checking out are Nightspace (@zah) and Neek (@Neekkat).
How being in NYC has influenced your work?
New York is different than what I thought it would be, The first few months I didn’t have time for anything because I was working so much but now I’m finding a nice balance and prioritizing the things that truly bring me joy. Before I moved here I was worried about constantly wanting to party and go out but New York can also be a place to be alone and use that time to be creative. I think this is the most anti social I’ve ever felt and been but in the best way. Giving myself the time and space I need to be productive in a way that makes me happy.
