In response to his grandfather’s memories of his late grandmother, Mrs. Modupe Florence Ogunyemi, Wekaforé has showcased a nostalgic collection filled with 1970s disco style and sportswear touches. Soft focus and sepia, this personal view of the post-colonization funk, disco and Afro-rock style helps to record African pop culture for us today. Featuring metallic flares, track jackets and large felt berets it oozes a youthful and warm feeling capturing the energy and spirit of Florence.
