The youth culture has been a common thread through Gianfranco's work with previous inspiration taken from R&N style icons to this new collection, making references to the 90's LA vibe and lifestyle. We couldn't deny that the Hip Hop wave was at its height tonight and that's what we enjoyed the most about this presentation. Self Made SS19, it's all about revisiting the Californian street culture of the past with pieces such as oversized t-shirts, bermudas and denim suits. Young designer, Gianfranco Villegas is proud of his Filipino-Italian origins and that reflects on his latest work - combining delicate and specific materials from Philippines with quality finishes and tailor-made touch typically made in Italy. What we like the most about this brand, that's his boyhood charm and grafiti hand-written signature that narrates pieces of personal life, thoughts, inspirations, and failures of the designer. All we can say is that Self Made is definitely one to watch!
