lo-fi, or different forms of life
lo-fi, or different forms of life is an exploration of the curvature of space once the carnal prison we inhabit can be lived only as an out-of-body experience. Which is to say: lo-fi as the possibility of escaping this orthopedic flesh. Shredded to pieces, garments evolve without the chance of getting any treatment or healing – and so does the body. Everything participates in the degradation of living images: a reflection of death postponing the second life of the eye.
Disfiguring and reversing the word “annihilation”, Mingze’s collection “NOITALIHINA” delves into the constitutive imbalance and rawness of contemporary psychic life. Unearthing the multiple personalities shaping our personas and which take physical form in people’s anxiety, the collection shows no compromises. Different elements (deconstruction/structure, sharpness/formlessness, delicacy/aggression) are not harmonized, but rather juxtaposed mimicking our psychic landscape: a panorama of ruins.
