Malacoda
In this story, we see the cliche of the foreign man selling red roses in the center of Milan, wearing Malacoda pieces. A situation and of some kind tabu beyond the Italian tradition and culture, yet nowadays recognised as something always present and accepted on the streets of Milan. The story’s context becomes almost arrogant, ironic and romantic at the same time.
Malacoda is a streetwear brand founded in Milan during the summer of 2016. The designer duo uses their Italian DNA to create a story full of irony and playful designs. The first one to be found in the name of the brand itself as it references a character from the medieval Divine Comedy’s “Inferno”, that is neither described physically nor by gender and invented truly by the poet himself. While sharing their culture’s cliches and taboos, a distinctive attitude and character are always present and create the brand’s soul.
