Everyone deserves to know that Lily Bloom exists. Sometimes gross, but always sexy, Lily
creates images that you didn’t know you needed to see.

So tell me a little about these images?
Ok so I love musicals and my day to day listening is various musical soundtracks. Cabaret/ SallyBowles has been on my list for a while. Then I wanted to be an aged Broadway star, when the fames all dried up so that’s what the green picture is about. Fosse and Verdon the TV show was also a trigger for this. My mum adored Meatloaf and so do I so he was an easy pick. I’ve watched him perform Bat Out of Hell countless times and wanted to be just as sweaty. The B&W image is because I love the world of preppers and doomsday predictors. I wanted it to look like I was looting after the rapture. Not every image I take has a vision until I’m shooting it and then I decide what I’m doing or sometimes a picture I take makes the decision for me. The nighttime images were meant to be like 90s paparazzi celeb shots but it turned out more budget Yeezy campaign lol.

How do you start the process of building an image? What comes first?
I’ll figure it out as I go. Like I might want to put a load of makeup on or if I’m feeling shitty about mybody I’ll deliberately do something nude.

Ha! I do that too, to PROVE to myself that I can still be cute. Do you ever go through blips where to don’t want to make anything? Sometimes 24 hours will pass and while I’ve achieved nothing, you’ve turned yourself into some kind of sexy goblin twice.
If I’m not liking how something’s coming out I figure it out until I do like it. So something will usually be posted even if it looks fuck all like what I started with. What I post on IG is the one I think will look good there but it’s not always my favourite of what I’ve taken. IG isn’t real and could be gone in a heartbeat so I try not to take it or myself too seriously. Print is still an achievement and I’d love to make more things without IG as their final resting place.

I kind of love that there’s all of these versions of you that exist on the internet that maybe people don’t know about if they see you in the street. All elegant with your long hair and Prada bag, it makes me laugh.

Do you ever change the images a lot? I don’t actually know if you face tune.
I FaceTune to enhance but never to truly change. Like I’ll get rid of my spots and detail by eyes but it’s never really a massive difference. I don’t see anything wrong with FaceTune as long as people realise everyone’s using it and don’t let their FaceTune “fixable” insecurities run their lives. Like I don’t give a fuck about my pores/ spots irl.

Some people’s FaceTunes are also very impressive it’s an art form within itself.
