Ice Ephem

Ice Ephem

The appeal of ice and frost exists within its sheen and variety of forms but as well as the way it perpetually lives between the liminal space of melting and freezing. To me, ice represents a specific strain and layer of difficulty that becomes increasingly important and valuable as you learn to admire terrestrial aesthetics. Being intrigued by ice’s organic temporality I constructed an ephemeral paper structure and a draped skirt which I dyed with shibori pole techniques to replicate its texture.
