Ginevra Nervi
Ginevra Nervi is a producer and score composer working with Netflix, Amazon Prime and SKY. Nominated at David di Donatello Awards 2021 as Best Original Song last year for Miles Away, included in the original soundtrack of Non Odiare by Mauro Mancini.
Her research in electronic music is based on the vocal timbre exploration by using different sound manipulation techniques. The artist attributes different rules to her voice and seeks completeness as composer and songwriter in the film industry, one of her main markets, without debasing any electronic music sub-genre and avoiding disproportionate use of ambient music. Ginevra Nervi pitches her tracks with the movies’ emotions in personal, always remarkable ways.
February 2020 saw the release of the single P!2, mastered by Heba Kadry (Bjork, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Mykki Blanco, Nicolas Jaar, Tirzah...). In 2021 Ginevra released Klastós EP, followed by Klastós Rework Edition with Lara Sarkissian, Alev Lenz, Midori Hirano and Chevel. The young composer presented her record at Primavera Pro, Ment Festival, Transart, Luc Festival, Triennale Milano, Castello Sforzesco, Opera Festival to name a few. She has recently released a rework for Palazzi D’Oriente’s album Sheltering Water, out on La Tempesta International.
Nervi offers to COEVAL the premiere of her new live performance, directed by Federico Floriani and Dario Baldini. Supported by Italia Music Export.
Ginevra Nervi:
“We wanted to realize something different from the “classic” live-session video.
That was our starting point. We wanted to create a completely new and exclusive content for the audience and it had to reflect the character of this version of Gaslighting, one of the tracks of my ep Klastós. It’s a twenty-minutes long piece of music instead of the four of the original song. You won’t find it anywhere other than in this video or during one of my live show. It’s a special thing. We chose an unusual location, the ground of a multifunctional cultural center, Tempio Del Futuro Perduto, where you can find a very interesting electronic scene of Milan. The space reminded me of those 90’ underground clubs, something dark and “dirty”, I found an interesting connection with the “noisy" and “glitchy” nature of the track and its rawest soul.”
Federico Floriani, Dario Baldini stated:
“For this project we decided to take a reporting attitude, we shot in a cultural center's underground and documented Ginevra's performance. The idea was to let the music lead playing with the camera in a very rough way. Also, the final look is a dirty black and white inspired by underground 70’s movies.
Everything was very spontaneous and genuine, we got along with Ginevra, she loves pandistelle.”
