In a groundbreaking fusion of style and subculture, Buffalo Source has joined forces with Berlin's iconic party collective, Herrensauna, to birth a bespoke line of shoes that embody the spirit of the underground. Launched in 2022, Buffalo Source, a collaboration label, has set out to bridge Buffalo's storied heritage with a progressive vision of underground culture. This latest partnership with the avant-garde purveyors of techno revelry, Herrensauna, propels the brand into uncharted territory.
Founded in 2015 by Cem Dukkha and Nicolas Endlicher, Herrensauna has evolved from an intimate gathering among friends to one of Berlin's most renowned techno nights. Their events are synonymous with punk energy, sweat-drenched dance floors, and a queer-friendly atmosphere that has garnered a cult-like following. It is within this context that Source and Herrensauna have birthed a line of shoes that encapsulates the raw intensity of a night at the club.
The collaborative designs, named the Herrensauna Creep and Herrensauna Trakker, reimagine iconic Buffalo silhouettes for the underground party context. The Herrensauna Creep, a reinvented Buffalo derby shoe with a detachable harness, seamlessly transitions from dinner to club. On the other hand, the Herrensauna Trakker, a revamped Buffalo hiking boot, features the Herrensauna logo etched onto the back, symbolizing the grit and authenticity of the techno scene. A variant, the Herrensauna Mud Trakker, pays homage to off-site illegal raves with a dirt-like texture, setting the tone for the moody campaign produced by Berlin-based agency Taboo.
The launch, slated for November 30th, promises an immersive celebration in London, featuring Herrensauna's signature soundscape. The shoes, available online and in-store from December 1st, are not just fashion statements but companions for the unbridled journey from the first beat to the early dawn. As Herrensauna boldly declares, clothes may be optional, but Buffalos are not. This collaboration is more than a meeting of aesthetics; it's a testament to the symbiotic relationship between fashion and the pulsating heartbeat of the underground.
