Adriana Hot Couture SS21
Down the spacious atrium of rationalistic architecture, Adriana Hot Couture show – Reality-Virtuality Cotinuum for spring summer 2021 appeared in show windows with neon lightning. Models and dolls stood, sat and posed on pedestals rather casually around in the crowded showroom. Their looks were inviting and intimidating at the same time, mixing synthetic materials and every strong colour and pattern there is creating characters seemingly unindependent of eachother. Yet breathtaking convincing as a whole.
The limited room and the accessability of getting close to the models added an hazy feeling of whether or not it was reality or if all was virtual. It was obvious it was real even though I wanted to assume and think something was fake.
The looks were fully completed with a little help from immersiv technology where extra pieces of digital accessories, shoes and makeup were added. It made me a spectator engaged to interact with the show. Filters do spice things up, let’s never ban them. The AHC show presented the essence of reality as we are starting to percieve it today. Who really cares if it’s real or fake, what matters is if it’s hot! And it was.
