4KHD
4KHD is the name of a long, rainy, off-road journey unexpectedly undertaken in 2018, almost as a joke. Today it is a collective of people doing things together scattered between Italy, Switzerland and The Netherlands.
Interact with the creative collective’s contents for a moment and you’ll quickly come to realize that their projects are brought to life through an injection of unhurried spontaneity both in the digital and physical realms. 4KHD exist in motion as they travel, packing useless things under the saddle, losing their way through experimental maps or creating imaginary and digital journeys they will never make.
Coeval explores and captures their visual chronicles that are not just about the destinations reached, but the spaces in between in a state of continuous movement. While they aim for a nomadic life, dreaming of an endless journey away from their urban lives, what 4KHD do is frequently mocking the canons of modern travelers and hyper-tech amateur sport. Instead of another project where everything could be documented with the best resolution, what they do is to create broken, shaky and usually rather useless tools that are more practical to dream than to perform.
“High resolution of low performances” is the short bio they usually refer to, perhaps because deep down they better handle images instead of bicycles.
