20025xsempre
With Italian lyrics sung by high-pitched, animated voices this project aims to reveal a new face of pop. Radically mixing Japanese hardstyle with sounds you rather classify as glitch core – the 20025xs trio sounds just as surreal as google deep dream images look like.
The EP cover says it all: a cheering crowd that looks up to a brightly colored stage waiting for the show to begin. The 20025xs trio will came out today with IDOLS, their debut project containing six tracks that immediately catapult you into a well-defined sonic rainbow, hard to classify into a genre. What speaks to us all here, who currently spend our days in collective quarantine and video calls, is above all hope. Hope, that the vibrancy on the cover will soon take place in our everyday lives again.
20025xs means "20025 forever". The numerical code stands for the cap of Legnano in the Milan hinterland, the hometown of the three band members. Composed of Bunny (vocals and lyrics), Max Glamor (vocals and lyrics) and Alakaij (producer), 20025xs embodies a new counter-current ideal of suburban culture, with the intention of spreading positivity, love and hope even through adversity. The visual aesthetics of the band contribues to their poppy sound, dazzling us with rainbow colors, confetti and anime silhouettes. Making you forget all connections to reality - which is exactly the vibe to distract us in Covid-quarantine.
The band was originally formed in 2017 when Alakaij and Max Glamor, driven by a punk mood and influenced by the international soundcloud scene, released various tracks with breakcore influences. When Bunny joined the duo in 2019, the symbiosis was perfect. By adding Bunny's influence: a mixture of pop-punk and hyper-pop, alluding to the sounds of PC Music and artists like Charli XCX, the final aesthetic of the now a trio was born.
To celebrate their debut, a release party has been organized on Zoom.us where you can listen to the EP together with DJ sets of five other artists.
